Authours
Hi All
I've added Nick and Natalie as authors to the blog. Therefore, you are now able to post stuff as well, so now we can exchange information.
Nick, I got your tweet but there was no link to an image for me to look at - it could be posted on here.
I'll try and keep an eye as best as possible on the blog but as you can imagine I'm really busy at the mo sorting out the content of this degree.
I'll send my contact details to your email address rather than on the blog.
I've also been working on other types of ways of creating an online profile which is easy to manage and looks inviting and professional. I'll keep you updated on this as the weeks pass - ps if you want me to act as a mentor let me know.
Cheers and good luck.

Mr Williams
I wrote the previous post before you gave me a really nice send-off present. Therefore, thanks Nick (for some bizarre reason I didn't shake your hand but I should of done - I apologise, I think it was the shock of receiving a gift) for the gift, you shouldn't have, but thank you and I appreciate it.
I'd also like to add that with only working with you for a measly 6 weeks it is evident that you have grown substantially. Not in terms of height but in maturity, skill, application and attitude.
Your a nice guy Nick and thanks for the help with the short film - keep it up. I also liked your comment on the CIQ where you said that it was a 'pleasant surprise' that I agreed with you. Maybe it's not just you that's changed it's me as well.
Good luck and I will be in touch soon!

Foundation Degree Team
Thanks once again for being cool students! Sorry I won't be here for your graduation, which I know you will achieve, but good luck and take care - i'll be in contact in the future.
Nat......I read your card to my children when I got home yesterday. On completion my daughter asked me "who's Paul" I replied "it's me". She then said "but your not cool.....you don't even like One Direction" - this is true I don't.
I will keep your card safe, as it is really nice and reassuring, and it makes you feel as though that even if you don't always feel that other individuals see what your doing the actual people that matter do.
Even if you can only help one person, and believe in them, then it's always worthwhile.
Thanks once again people.
p.s. if i could give you two wise words of wisdom it would be.................yeahhhhhhhh Boyyyyyyy.
Goodnight!

REPOST - Link to work over the Summer
I've copied the post from the Summer, which the 2nd years have completed....should have completed.
Nick, you can also use the individuals for your own production as well.
Nat & Matt
Please read the linked file HERE
You should both be able to undertake this research over the Summer and it is vital that it is completed by the time you get back. There is research that you will need to do and you may need to go and watch some films you have not seen already.
After you have read the document you might want to look up some of these names - hint hint.
Walter Murch, Dede Allen, Thelma Schoonmaker, Michael Kahn, Arthur Schmidt, Dylan Tichenor, Pietro Scalia, James Haygood.
Joe Letteri, John Knoll, John Dykstra, Eric Barba, Robert Legato, Dean Wright, Joel Hynek, Dennis Muren, John Gaeta, Eric Brevig, Carlo Rambaldi, H. R. Giger, Paul Franklin.
Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Klaus Badelt, Howard Shore, Danny Elfman, James Newton Howard, Michael Giacchino, Dario Marinelli, Alberto Iglesias, Gustavo Santaolalla, Ennio Morricone, Randy Newman, John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith.
There are more, and you may wish to choose individuals that relate to films/TV shows that you admire and like. However, we are looking at the best practitioners within their field!
Could you both please add a comment to show me that you have seen this post and know what you are required to do.
Good luck and have a good Summer.

Colour Grading Links
Why Colour Grade? What's the Point!
As we have already discussed recently colour grading is becoming an essential part of post-production and now the tools that professional studios have been using for a vast amount time are readily available.
One of the main criteria of the current unit you are working on is to discuss colour grading.
Here are a few short videos that explain, show and demonstrate how to utilise colour grading.
It might give you an insight into what you could achieve.
Furthermore, if you are struggling with techniques and ideas for how to colour grade and also some of the possibilities then explore you tube as there is a plethora of options.
I've also had a look at your blogs...I didn't realise that one of the criteria for the unit was to submit very little/nothing. Can we look at posting some work please!
